Dr. Shahamiri spent the 2024 summer at the Beckman Institute for Advanced Science and Technology at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, USA. While there, he further established collaboration with Prof. Mark Hasegawa-Johnson and his Statistical Speech Technology Group, working on a project to make speech technologies more accessible for individuals with speech impairments. This collaboration between the DeepNet Discovery Network and UIUC’s Statistical Speech Technology Group has been an exciting step forward in our shared goal of advancing inclusive technologies. We aim to enable speech technologies for those who need them most to have a normal life.
